A Song of Silver and Gold
by Melissa Karibian
After losing her brother to a siren, Princess Kaelyn is set on avenging his death. Disguised as Captain Kae, she cobbles together a crew to rid the waters of sirens. On the other hand, siren warrior, Aqeara, is found to be at fault when a princess of her kingdom is killed. Striking a deal with a sea witch, Aqeara must pose as human and take a life.
This is a sapphic, enemies-to-lovers, super slow-burn read. Both FMCs are complex and each dealing with their own set of issues to overcome. There’s high angst and tension, and honestly, I could never pinpoint where the story would go. Some great twists and turns popped up throughout. A lot of my favorite tropes made an appearance in this book, including one bed and found family.
If you’re looking for a read with sapphic Little Mermaid vibes, pick up this book! It’s an amazing debut, and I eagerly await more from this author.
Special thanks to Hansen House for the ARC. All thoughts in this review are honest and my own.
