Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert
4.0
Looking for motivation to pursue your creative endeavors? Well, if you are, this book might just be the very thing to help you move beyond just thinking about your craft.
I'm not sure how this book reads, but the audio rendition by Elizabeth Gilbert was quite powerful. Her absolute belief in the creator's (writer, sculptor, painter, poet) relationship with the muses of creativity was sincere. While some may think her portrayal of creativity that borders on the mystical is a little over-the-top, I found it rather freeing. Listening to her advice and account of her working relationship with these free-roaming muses made me want to invite that creative force into my life. It made me want to open myself up to the possibility of success and failure.
This was a library loan for me, but I think it's going to need to become a permanent title in my Audible bookshelf.
