I've been in a slump and decided to try this book and really enjoyed it. I like Karla's writing a lot. She has a way to make women feel similar to me. I have nothing in common with the FMC, but some of her emotions I have certainly felt and Karla writes this beautifully.
The story is cute. Burly athlete and sweet librarian. A small tether to the past that evolves to the present with a relationship that they both want to put an expiration date on, but we all know that's not how love works.
The pacing is easy. I took a lot of time with the book and never felt like I had to catch up. I also listened to the audio most of the time and it was excellent. Samantha Brentmoor is amazing. I loved her tones and the way she elicited emotion. She made me cry! Aiden Snow did well. I did think his voice felt a bit deep for the MMC, but he is a great voice actor and still made it work.
