One for My Enemy by Olivie Blake

Did not finish book. Stopped at 8%.
To be fair, this book was a long shot to start with. I don't traditionally like Romeo and Juliet retellings much, but this one had me intrigued. Then the writing was insufferable to me. It was trying too hard to be flowery and beautiful, and it instead ended up repetitive and clunky.

"Interesting," Maria said softly. "Very interesting."
"Is it?"
"Oh yes, very."
I mean, she JUST said it was very interesting, so saying very again isn't adding anything.

There was another moment where there were like 4 suffixes added to a word to make it an adverb, but I didn't bookmark it and I just can't be bothered to try to find it. I'm hopeful that Blake doesn't write like this in all of her books, because she has really interesting concepts.
