Well, Actually
by Mazey Eddings
funny
lighthearted
fast-paced
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Vibes: ππβ€οΈπβποΈ
Tropes: enemies-to-lovers / opposites attract / slow burn / witty banter
Rating : 4.25β
Spice Level: πΆοΈπΆοΈπΆοΈ (open door)
This book really had me laughing out loud so much. The whole book really did a good job of balancing humor with vulnerability. There were a lot of current social media references. (Eva's job reminds me of Chicken Shop Date, specifically the episode with Andrew Garfield.) Eva has some great character development, starting off "mean girl"-ish, and her banter with Rylie was top tier, he's definitely able to throw it back at her. I'm also obsessed with how persistent Rylie is with Eva, even when she breaks down her walls and becomes vulnerable ad defensive.
I highlighted so many quotes between the couple because I want to remember them forever. Plus "Baby Girl" and "kitten" are my new favorite pet names.
