Jay's Gay Agenda by Jason June
4.0
medium-paced

Jay longs to participate in all the sweet coming-of-age romantic milestones that come with adolescence, but being the only out gay kid at his rural Washington high school is halting him from having any of these experiences. But when his mom gets a new job and they have to move to  Seattle, Jay braces the opportunity to make all his gay dreams come true.

This was an adorable if not entirely frustrating, Queer YA book about self discovery, growth, and learning from mistakes. Did I want to reach into my Kindle and strangle Jay from time to time? Absolutely!!! He is a teenager making teenage decisions. Sooo much of the conflict experienced in this book could have been avoided if Jay had thought for half a second about his words, but I also think the point of this was also that he didn't really know what he wanted or how to get it. This is my second Jason June book, and one thing he does very well is create a loveable and diverse cast of characters to root for, even when the MC is being an insufferable brat at times.
