The hype is real tbh.

I’m going to be honest I wasn’t fully convinced with this one until about 70% or the way through, but when the action really picked up, I was strapped tf IN.

I loved the attention Bardugo gave to the relationships between the characters and all of the relationships, both pre-existing and newly formed, felt realistic and complex. I especially loved Nina and Matthias’s relationship and how we slowly got the missing pieces to why they are the way they are. Also Kanej was GIVING!

The delicate nature by which Bardugo handles trauma and it’s lasting effects on the characters was really well done in my opinion, and the trauma responses of the characters felt right for their respective experiences without becoming exploitative or “trauma-porn”-esque.

Overall, I definitely think this lives up to the heist and will definitely leave you super anxious for the dates of the characters after the VERY tense third act conclusion and subsequent cliff-hanger.
