A friend recommended this author to me and luckily I won this as part of a Goodreads giveaway. Having been in the field of Special Education for 35 years this is a sensitive topic. I found it to be beautiful but also heartbreaking. Seems very accurate, I know children were placed in institutions before the education system accepted them. Tough to read at times but I loved it.
