Dune Messiah by Frank Herbert

4.0

Compared to the first book, Dune Messiah is definitely a much more localised story and I found it to be much more accessible due to not having the same level of expansiveness as Dune.

This was definitely not as epic, and seemed to focus a lot more of court politics and character studies of some of our favourite characters from the original book. This definitely felt like a prelude as to what’s to come with Children of Dune and there was a lot of set up for the third book.
This is more my kind of story as I don’t really like to read about battle and war, and would prefer character arcs and reading about political endeavours- so this was great for me!

Despite not being as grand in terms of scale, I found this to be an excellently written sequel, and once again Herberts writing style is just something that clicks with me.

Cant wait to read the third book and see where this goes next!
