I decided to pick up the book after reading many positive reviews about Vuong and their work. It was much more literary and poetic than I expected, although that's unsurprising. I enjoyed the storyline and character development, although my mindset during reading wasn't ideal for the book as it's quite heavy and needs headspace for reflection, but it was enjoyable to read.
