Another cute little novella. I'm really glad we got this sequel for A Spindle Splintered even if just for the character work that was done here. I thought it was odd that Zinnia
decided to leave her friends and family at the end of the first book.
It definitely didn't feel completely finished and it turns out I was right.
This book is set five years after the first one and Zinnia has been running from the ending of her story the entire time. It was really beautiful to watch her accept the fact that her ending might not be a happily ever after where she gets rid of her life-long illness, but she can still be happy and content with the extra time she was given. It's definitely something that we can all relate to and have to learn for ourselves eventually.
I also really liked the plot of this one. It was interesting and I liked that we went outside of the sleeping beauty stories. It was fascinating to see how Harrow put it all together and even made it believable, more than simply fantasy.
Overall this was a good follow up to the first book and provided some much needed character growth.
