Elton John by Maria Isabel Sánchez Vegara

4.0

I've always been intrigued by the Little People, Big Dreams series and Elton John seemed like an interesting subject for my first one. These books are coming thick and fast so I'm sure it would be easy for anyone to find a public figure that interests them. Elton is the 50th star to get the Little People, Big Dreams treatment.
The bright colourful illustrations turned this into an almost magical story about Elton's rise to fame. I didn't know an awful lot about his life going in, but was aware of some aspects. I love that the book didn't completely exclude the hard topics, but introduced them in a way that kids would understand.
The main book is quite a quick round up of his life geared to younger children but the back has extra information for those kids with further questions. I like that the child can grow with the book.
