Long Haul by Frank Figliuzzi
4.0
dark reflective fast-paced

I really liked the way Figliuzzi went about researching this one. He not only spoke with those who are working on the FBI's Highway Serial Killer Initiative (HSKI) but also with trafficking survivors and those who are working to support their recovery and help others. I was most impressed by the week Figliuzzi chose to spend on the road with a current trucker - sleeping in his truck, helping with loads, and learning the ins and outs of trucking culture. If anything, I learned more about the trucking industry than I did about the HSKI itself.

I would've preferred a different set-up of the book overall. I was so interested in the chapters with Mike the trucker that I'd get irritated when they were interrupted by a chapter with a behavioral analyst. Breaking the topics into sections would've eliminated that issue.
