Y'all, somehow my *boss* is the person who recommended this book to me, and she wasn't wrong.
Lights Out is a dark, spicy romantic comedy that reminded me of Butcher & Blackbird and Leather & Lark. I could tell early on that I was going to enjoy the book, and I was absolutely correct. The spice was spicy, the comedy was exactly my sense of humor, and the relationship between Aly and Josh was well developed.
The things I didn't love about the book were mostly plot related. I feel like Aly's family was introduced a little abruptly, and then all of a sudden they were integral to the rest of the book. It was a little weird, but I still think it worked in the end.
There is a list of content warnings at the beginning of the book. Please read them!
