Some mixed feelings on this one. I thought the writing was really beautiful and the characterization was strong, but at times the story really lagged. I really could have done without part 2 which was very boring and seemed like your standard war narrative. This was unlike anything I've ever read. I kinda liked how "meta" it was and I appreciated all of Briony's inner monologues about consciousness and writing.
