It's a really good book, and extremely important for the storyline but it just doesn't feel as exciting to read this one than the rest of the series. I felt like I was just really looking forward to finishing this to understandCelaena's past and read Heif of Fire. It was like a gap book in between what was going on in the "actual" world. The excitement for the HoF was really high when I started AB and still is now that I have finished. I feel like this is definitely essential to the series and the star rating has nothing to do with that.
