if there’s one thing this book showed me is that I am not a forgiving person. i’m gonna try not to rant because I don’t want to spend any more of my energy on this but don’t know if that’s gonna be possible. when I started the book I was honestly loving it. i was loving noah. i was loving alexis. and by the end of this book only one of those things is kind of true. and spoiler alert that’s noah. alexis for me started getting progressively worse halfway through the book. i was sympathetic towards everything she went through and was annoyed that she was such a pushover but was hoping that that would be her character development by the end of the book and it just fucking wasn’t. she kept being a fucking pushover. she was all bark and no bite!!!!! she was either (rightfully so) mad and with an attitude towards her bio family like she was forgiving them after them showing her no reason for her to do so. words are just words and their actions are what mattered. they never really showed they cared for her other than wanting her kidney. yeah they told her *rolls eyes* but their actions didn’t match up!!!! I was so fucking mad she actually forgave them and gave them the kidney because THEY DIDN’T DESERVE IT. and what frustrated me the most about her was how little she appreciated noah. she literally doubted him because of people she knew didn’t like him and she had just met just because they shared dna, literally broke up with him partly because of it and then when it came to cayden she’s just like “i forgive you hahahaha” bitch what???? and you know what else pissed me off? how it always had to be noah to apologize and run after her. and that bullshit coming from mack that he was “pushing her away” when he did nothing of the sort, saying she tried to apologize when she in fact NEVER SAID SORRY TO HIM!!!! noah apologising to her for not being at the hospital sooner when she didn’t even tell him she was going through with it and she’s just like “it’s ok” the fuck??? she’s the one who needed to grovel in this book, not him. and it pissed me off that the bromance book club revolved around noah always being the one running after her when she’s the one who fucked up. women can grovel too you know? they fuck up too and we just don’t see them doing it often in books because when they do it it’s seen as desperate but when men do it it’s seen as cute and commitment. it’s just fucking bullshit. I love a grovelling man as much as the next person but only when they actually need to and NOAH DIDN’T NEED TO. also them acting like him being angry was a problem… they were acting like he was angry 24/7, punching walls and people and shit. yeah being an angry person in general is not healthy but feeling angry is. and his anger was never misplaced! every single time he was angry he had a right to be. in fact, almost everything he ever said in this book was true (with the exception of the grovelling of course). in case y’all haven’t noticed i’m angry. and i’m gonna end this by saying that alexis didn’t deserve noah.
