Could not get over the series of bad decisions made by the characters that sets up the whole premise of the book! The perpetual cringe and asking of "why" was too agonizing. It wasn't just the covering up of the murder (not a spoiler, it was in the description) and the resulting angst and anxiety, but even the whole set up of the article the FMC needed to write to save face with her ex and friends and to land her dream job was so contrived. I could not suspend disbelief long enough to buy into the story, and I read a lot of zany stuff — but illogical choices by otherwise presumably smart characters in a contemporary setting is too painful for me to read.
