idk if i added this to my tbr ironically or because i was genuinely interested, but a murder mystery in an influencer house seemed intriguing nevertheless.
the book started off great. it also covered a lot of great themes, that people will do anything for fame, and that even celebrities/influencers are humans and require space, etc. bonus points for short chapters too
but then the suspense, in my opinion, wasn't built very well. the police scenes very HIGHLY unrealistic, almost childish. none of the characters had a personality; all of them were superficial and pretentious, which would've been fine if each of them had some other distinguishable personality trait. basically, the characters were very flat and one-dimensional.
however, it was the ending that ruined it all for me. it just seemed like the author mashed together the endings of One of Us Is Lying and A Good Girl's Guide to Murder. AND THE WORST PART IS the police couldn't figure anything out for like a week and then randomly this kid solves the mystery in two minutes??? what????

so who would i recommend this book for? if you haven't read OOUIL and AGGGTM (although you definitely should) and want a simple, not too complex YA mystery/thriller, go right ahead and read this
