I hate it when you read an author for the first time that you see everyone loving and then when you finally do, you are mad at yourself for waiting. I loved it. The writing was smooth like butter and I couldn’t stop.
This is quite a beautiful story. There’s a lot of unrequited love and feelings with both characters. There’s heartbreak and loss, opportunities missed, sacrifices made and you feel it every step of the way. Ainsley is protecting her heart with sarcasm and jokes but even through her banter you could feel the worry from her of another potential heartbreaking situation.
As for Lachlan and Ainsley …Their story was great and had all the hallmark sparks I've come to love adore through small town romances. I loved how Rose was incorporated into the story, and seeing her relationship with both Lachlan and Ainsley grow and develop along the way.
This was a great start to the series. I loved the introduction to all the new characters and I'm already theorizing how they're all going to play out, since there is so many possibilities.
