The Return of Tarzan by Edgar Rice Burroughs

5.0

Tarzan gets the highest rating not because it's a flawless books, but because if you set your expectations correctly, you get exactly what you came for.

Want an impeccably polite, smart, stronger than any human or animal, always chivalrous and decent "Forest God" (as he's actually called in the book) that always comes out on top, having adventures? Then by Jove you're in the right place. This sequel also makes up for what it did at the end of the first novel, so there's that. (No need to think about the weird laws of nature, or the Lamarckism, or the lions _in a jungle_ and stuff like that. Just enjoy the ride. :)
Oh yeah, and seems Burroughs didn't want to overuse the word 'said', so Tarzan is soliloquising and ejaculating all over the place.
