i really enjoyed the new perspectives on the plots from the two first books. really good plot points and more reading about joey. in my opinion- aoife is really annoying, i love that she is always there for joey because he is really an amazing person and doesn’t deserve anything he is going through, so i don’t know why she annoys me, but she does. she often made joey feel guilty and always put joey up by putting the other siblings down. i understand that joey always felt like the worst out of the bunch, but she should focus on putting joey up not putting the other siblings down. they are literally like his kids. she was also way too dependent on joey and blamed him for that. bro i also HATE DARREN. he was so frustrating, he needed to get out of the plot. i always was always so upset with marie and tony, joey always wanted to do good by them!

i loved johnny and shannon’s books so i really missed them in joey’s books. i also think that having aoife’s perspective on the relationship between joey and shannon kinda ruined it for me because everything seems like a competition for her. for example in the saving 6 aoife asks which sibling is his favorite and he doesn’t want to say but she pushes him to. it just continues like this throughout the two books. aoife in shannon’s books seemed like she was always there to support joey and therefore his family because his siblings are so important to him. but in joeys books it was like aoife was helping out joeys family because they take advantage of him and his siblings don’t see him as anything more than a meal ticket. this take was so obviously false and rude from my perspective, knowing shannon’s version of the events.

one small example of this that annoyed me is when in shannon’s books aoife thinks “Yeah, he was, but that didn’t make it any easier for him” when shannon says…. “It’s not your fault,” she told him before I could. “None of what happened last night was your fault. You’re entitled to have a life, Joey.” …like shannon was just trying to reassure him.
