All families have a history. In this book, we find out about Will Trent’s work partner’s family history.

Ok, so, where to start? Faith Mitchell works for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation with Will Trent. She’s picking up her kid, and finds a dead body, and 2 gang bangers (who she gets into a shoot out with) in her mom’s house. Oh and her Mom’s missing. So the GBI investigate.

Faith’s mom came up through the Atlanta PD in the 1960s and 70s, when misogyny and racism were pretty much on show. She went from the typing pool to head of the Drug Squad, so she’s an achiever. That achievement means you’ve got a history though, so the book hints at that, as they try to solve the case.

The book is a decent read, it’s just it a little predictable, if you’ve read a lot of crime novels.
