The Count of Monte Cristo [Abridged]
by Alexandre Dumas
Too bad this one's abridged. Ascertain themes of revenge, faith, religion, morality, and 18th century Europe (since it covered settings from Greece, Italy, and France). An instant favorite. Will return to write a fuller note once I've read the unabridged novel.
