Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind
5.0

I found this series while looking through comments on barnes and noble's website regarding book five of the series "A Song of Ice and Fire."  The first thing that struck me with this book was how beautifully descriptive Terry Goodkind painted the mountainous forests at the start of the book. I started reading it without any expectations or knowledge of the plot. Similarly the main character is ignorant of events that are occurring in his world beyond his small town, events which eventually require his efforts. I felt more involved in the story this way than i may have otherwise. I loved this story!
