4.25/5 - I Loved this one!!

My theme for this month was Saddle Up September where I finally started my Cowboy romance era. Queen Walter's definitely made this an enjoyable theme. Sometimes authors can write about things and even though they are not versed in it, the research can make you feel like nothing was missed. All the details match and the story flows. That was my initial thought when I started this book that I immediately loved all the little things about this story.

I also thought that Legend, who was the MMC of this story, being a bull rider was fascinating. I have never thought about reading about a bull rider before. I have seen the competitions before but never thought about it being a chocolate man who was walking around in his BDE and was fine. I just know he was fine. But as I read this, I immediately said "Oh she did her homework" and Legend became one of my favorite characters to date.
Let's not forget his friend Red because if you don't have a friend like Red then you need some new friends. Red knew how to support Legend in all the ways he needed it. I was here for it.

Harper was cool. She was definitely stand offish for my guy Legend but she couldn't deny his chocolate goodness. Shana was a great supporting friend. These two women had one another's back and I was here for here. I am glad they had one another and spoke their truths to each other as well. They held one another accountable just like the guys did and I loved this detail in the story.

Zaire was a whole hot mess and that is all I will say for that.

I enjoyed this story and all that is was. I also chatted with the author and by her sharing her experiences and background, along with the authors note at the end of this story, this made me enjoy this story even more. This is not just another cowboy story that is a black man who got a Stetson and has horses. Nope not at all. Monica did great work here as she allowed you to experience the country life, one descriptive word at a time. And I am here for all of it.
