If I Should Die
by Amy Plum
To be honest, I was so excited to come back for the third and final book in the series! That cliffhanger at the end of book two? Ingenious! I was definitely wanting to read the last book asap!
I have to say, this book has to be he best of the three. I have never been so pleased with the previous two books and I felt this one wrapped the entire story up very well.
The journey to finding a solution to Vincent's predicament was just a thrilling action filled ride. The questions hanging in the air: will he be saved? echoed through every chapter and new revelation. I loved how much this book was so relatable in terms of emotions. I love the creation and expanding on the history of the Revenants. I had a good time being immersed in the rich created history.
Ah ha! There is a monumental scene where Vincent and Kate have sex but alas it was disappointing that it was all summed up in only two or three lines!
As for the reveal of Kate being the Champion well that was not too surprising. I kinda suspected it after it was revealed Vincent was not the champion. I felt pleased on how the author made this turn out. As for the side characters, I felt that Ambrose and Charlotte were put together to just make the end satisfying. Personally, I would have preferred Charlotte to move on after pinning for Ambrose for such a long time! As for Jules, that was really a tragedy. He fall in love with his best friend's girl. It was hard and he had to leave the Paris revenents just to get over it.
All in all, I felt that this book had to be the best of the three and I liked the ending. It was not as predictable as I thought.
