The actual horror aspect in this book compared to the others in the series was disappointing and the characters that I've grown fond of were just grouchy and unlikeable in this story. Jordan is constantly tearing Dan down and he is just taking it. But not once did I feel like DNFing the book due to Madeleines writing being some of my favorite to read, it's very easy to read.  I reserve 2 stars for books that I have to push through and fight to finish which is the reason I am giving this a 3.
