Promise Me, Dad: A Year of Hope, Hardship, and Purpose by Joe Biden
3.0
I don't usually read books by candidates. I prefer to read books at the end of their career talking about what they've learned. In book, Biden shares some very tender and personal moments. I loved learning about his relationships with his family and especially the bond between his two sons. I think all those things speak to his character as a father and as a human. When I picked up this book, that's what I thought (based on the title) it would be solely about. It was also about everything Biden did over the course of that year. Lots of name dropping, political experience, etc. That part tired me, but I think it's because I don't read this type of book often. I do leave it feeling like I know more about Joe Biden as a person and a human being, but also disappointed and feeling that the title was a little misleading.
