Providing eerie parallels to the current pandemic, Nora Roberts has written a chilling end of the world series starter. With the Doom decimating world populations, the story is scarily possible. Luckily Roberts has laced her tale with fantasy, magical creatures and powers, villains and nightmare horrors. With her usual deft touch, the characters rapidly fill their outlines and become people you care about. The world building is slick and the story is a great set up for the rest of the Chronicles of the One.
A great read.
