I enjoyed this book and this series very much! Anthony Ryan is a master writer and I have enjoyed all of his books that I have read. This story, following Alwyn Scribe from a young man in a forest band of outlaws to his growth as a soldier and scholar was an outstanding character study and highly recommended.
