Overall not a bad second volume. The story is very political and there's little to no romantic development at all so it's honestly a little hard to even classify this as a danmei novel. I will likely continue to read the series because I am interested in the plot and the political intrigue but it's a slower read and if you read this genre mainly for the romance I might recommend you skip this one.
