I’m not too into sci-fi or fantasy, largely because i feel writers tend to focus on the world rather than the story, and at first i thought this was just another example of that.
God was I wrong.
There isn’t really a point in this book that jumps out at you, it’s more this bubbling, lingering feeling, that makes you want to come back for more. Despite being an alien world, the love that ties everything together makes it feel so viscerally real that you can’t help but fall for it. It doesn’t preach to you, but it persuades you to listen.
I love you Ursula K Le Guin.
