This was my second ever ARC copy of a book and I absolutely LOVED this story! I first want to point out that the fact that Elle included a soundtrack for her book was incredible! It really added to the story and made it play out even more like a movie in my mind. I wish all books had soundtracks to them now!
I was very excited to be picked as an ARC reader for this story. I was drawn to the sapphic spicy romance trope and, as a lover of animals, that the story included dogs. Not only did this book pull on my heartstrings with the adorable canine characters but it completely blew me out of the water with the spice! 🥵🌶️💕 I have to admit that it did give me some ideas to try (😉 iykyk)!
I think the story included a good mix of character development, story details, and spicy scenes. I was able to relate to both Violet and Cam throughout the entire story and loved watching their relationship with each other develop. Not only did we have two amazing and relatable main characters, we also had really great supporting characters! I loved the LGBTQIA+ representation with each and every one of them. I equally enjoyed the way Elle included mental health struggles that I, myself, could relate to.
If you want a cozy, but also spicy sapphic, romantic comedy with a dash of cute dogs, positive mental health representation and fantastic LGBTQIA+ inclusion, “Puppy Love” is the book for you!
