Well, this was my first audiobook, and it was a pleasant experience.

But the book itself wasn't outstanding.

Probably I am the problem. Im too old for this, and my taste in books lean into more adult themes, with long storylines, and slow books.

Because of that this YA novel (sososo YA it kinda hurt) that took place in less than a week, it was so childish I could really care about it too much.

The fantasy part was fine, the worldview felt childish, but if the main character is like 16 you can't really expect anything else.

The romance part... was eh. Okay, maybe I like the slow burn too much, but the fact that they fell in love in like 4 days, feels sososo out of place.

Honestly the fact that the whole book happened in 4 days felt so naive? I feel like it easily could have been a lot longer, with the same amount of action. Like getting into the library, maybe could have taken a week? And if instead of 4 days the whole thing would have become 4 weeks, even the love could have made sense (still then I would have been fast, but young love and shit)

Overall, it wasn't a bad book. If you are new to fantasy, or like YA you are probably going to like this. Honestly, if I would have read this when I was 13 instead of 20 I would have loved it too. Just be mindful that this has an expiration day on it.
