I think it is important to start by saying that it is important to seek out trigger warnings before starting to ensure a safe reading experience. I do not think that the descriptions of violence are gratuitous, but they are certainly graphic and could be triggering for some readers.

With that said what an absolutely devastating, heartbreaking read as you walk alongside each character as they live through unimaginable trauma and grapple with grief, guilt, and age old philosophical debates of morality. It has been a while since I have read philosophical texts, but I am left with the question, do our intentions or the outcome of our choices define our own morality. And would either answer actually absolve the consuming guilt? This family will live with me for a long time to come.
