The Veiled Kingdom by Holly Renee

When I tell you that man is so fineeeee.

Phew. Right. We are talking about the plot of the book and not just Dacre. (In my defense I think Nyra mainly wants to talk about him too.)

We meet Nyra as she is living on the streets trying to escape the kingdom she lives in and the oppressive king.. who just so happens to be her father. Her plans all go amiss when she is caught stealing by the kings guard.

Dacre, the son of the rebel commander has to go free his sister from the dungeons under the palace and ends up having to save Nyra as well. Instantly distrusting her but drawn to her nonetheless he calls her “little traitor.” Me, personally, I’ve never wanted to be a traitor more.

He takes her to their secret lair, and begins training her to help fight in the rebellion. Nyra knows if anyone finds out she is the lost princess that they will at best use her against her father and at worst kill her. So she trains and bids her time. As it is often in a good enemies to lovers story, they just can’t seem to stay away from one another. Going so far as to having to share a bed. I mean what could possibly go wrong. Surely her secret won’t be discovered??
