Truly Enjoyable Read
It is so great to find a book written by someone from your homeland. The feeling of reading a book where the characters, scenery and language are familiar is a true blessing. This story was well written and the plot was truly captivating. I loved the older main female character, she had so much spunk, it reminded me of an older Scott from To Kill A Mockingbird. The lessons she taught the younger character are priceless. My only downside to the story is that I wished the older main female character had made a different choice with her childhood friend but in getting to know her character better it wouldn't have fit her personality. In all a beautiful coming of age story set against the independence of the Gem of the Caribbean Sea.
