EDIT: This was my first re-read of this series and I love it!!! Being with smol Fitz made me realize how far we had come and how much he should have been protected early on. I also appreciate this book a lot more on reread and love the slowness of the story a lot more.

This story was a coming of age story with more of a quiet assassin instead of a flashy murderous one. I feel like this made the story unique and the change of pace was nice. There was not a lot of plot but a lot of political intrigue with a lot of description. This helped me picture the world and the different characters so vividly. Due to the description heavy setting, it tool me longer to read to get through. (4.0 stars)
