I’ll start by saying, I’m glad this wasn’t my first Stephen King book because I don’t know that I’d read more 🤣. I’m not a huge fan of horror or gore and always thought that’s what King wrote. However, I read and LOVED The Institute and that flipped my opinion.

Later, however, is exactly what I use to think of King’s reputation. Hahaha the writing is great and the story was riveting (I did give it 4 stars!) but I was disturbed for the whole second half. The gore details were absolutely disgusting and the twisty messed up things at the end left my jaw open. While I did give it a favorable rating, I hope to not read another book like this hahahaha.
