Dear Heartbreak: YA Authors and Teens on the Dark Side of Love by Heather Demetrios

4.0

This is a book that would’ve done me some good to read as a teen, and it was healing to get it as an adult. I didn’t connect with every essay, and a lot of the themes repeated, but the message of loving yourself is hard enough to grasp that it warrants being said on a few different ways. Overall, this collection makes good on the promise all stories make: to open your eyes to possibility and wonder, to let you see through the eyes of another, and to see more deeply into yourself.
