Faerie Path #5: The Enchanted Quest by Frewin Jones

2.0

I'm starting to realize that the last few pages are worth the while with Frewin Jones. Unpacking the action, the climax of the narrative, and some cliffhangers are the ingredients that make me want to continue reading this not-so-good series, simply because I want my answers.

Sadly, besides this, I cannot think of a single thing that made me happy while reading this book. Actually, I was this close 🤏 to getting into a reading slump.

I cannot root for or feel for these characters. They are contradictory and borderline stupid. Their reasoning and personalities aren't well shown, and I think the author would thrive more by explaining what the characters are feeling instead of describing the scenery. We get it, picturing every detail is cool and magical, and it can be immersive and all of that, but it's not vital for what is going on. Every plot twist or victory just felt flat to me because I could no longer create a bond or connection with any of these characters.
