The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

5.0

This book had been on my reading list for the longest time, and I always intended to read it but simply had no time. I thought it would be another war story, childish in its focus and end happy.

I was so wrong.

And I really don't understand why this book is in the Young Adult section; it's really not for children (anyone under 16). But maybe I found it so striking because I am older. There was never a moment in this book that I did not feel uncomfortable, and i think that's exactly how we're supposed to feel.

Hosseini doesn't hold back. It's all out there and it's perfect that way.
