I think it was a solid book and an interesting take on aliens, but I appreciate soft scifi more for its multidimensional takes on humanity… in this book, all characters are a bit of the same: they word vomit their lofe stories at first encounter, and all smart people have given up on humanity. To me it’s not a very nuanced take.
I appreciated the translation and particularly the translators footnotes which helped to understand some of the references.
