Lies, Lies, Lies by Adele Parks
3.0
Great but uncomfortable reading. The first books that I have read by Adele Parks, and even though the content was at times really difficult to listen to (I "read" the audiobook version), the writing and the characters were really well done. The story was told from two perspectives, Daisy and Simon who are husband and wife, who have a family of three with their daughter Millie. I think having two narrators of the story worked really well and added to the sense of not completely knowing what was going to happen next, or what had actually happened prior to the time in which the novel takes place. Definitely a page-turner, and very sensitively written. I can't say I loved it because it was really uncomfortable and the secrets were tragic rather than shocking. But will definitely read more of Adele Parks in the future.
This book deals with infertility, rape, alcoholism, violence, and abuse so may be triggering for some.
