Batgirl, Vol. 1: The Darkest Reflection
by Gail Simone
I've only read the Burnside High and Year One Batgirl's, so after hearing that Joss Whedon's Batgirl movie would be influenced by Gail Simone's run... I was excited to give this a read. It's very dark, somber, and introspective. I enjoyed it, but as someone who was introduced to Batgirl via the Adam's West show... a brighter pop version resonates with me more. I was introduced to the Yvonne Craig Batgirl, and I see her as a brighter version. But still, if you are in the mood for a post Killing Joke narrative that is brave but somber this is for you.
