Double Feature: Attack of the Soul-Sucking Brain Zombies/Bride of the Soul-Sucking Brain Zombies by Brent Hartinger

5.0

I am actually really surprised to read the reviews of how people are being *so* harsh on Min's POV of her story - which, honestly, I thought was so refreshing.

It's almost as if - it's so obvious - that the audience really likes Russell and are just hating on Min b/c it's from a strong female POV. Which was so fucking good!

To tell you the truth, I really wasn't interested in the second half b/c of Russell's POV about his Chinese-American-Bisexual best friend but I was really just SO SICK of the high school drama with Russell, and Otto, and Keven - that learning about Min, and her lesbian - still in the closet girlfriend was actually kind of fun!

And then the twist with Kevin in the end, really did take the cake.

I think it's so funny and enlightening to see the same story with two different people's eyes. What Russell thinks of Min and what Min thinks of Russell as they are best friends and are trying to figure out their own love-lives. Russell does NOT paint Min in the kindest of lights but when Min talks about Russel she *adores* him and it makes me like her so much more. She's just a strong, opinionated POC that is just really kind of a kick ass.

All in all, My favourite of the three books so far.

And MAN, I don't think I can love Gunner any more than I already do.
