I reviewed two of the novellas in this collection at this time, the rest of the reviews will come later. The two stories were entertaining, romantic, and easy to read. Extremely different, these two stories captured my attention and I enjoyed them both.
The Bride Of A Baronet

I was impressed with this intricate, complex, captivating novella. This is a messy, complicated love story that breathes new life into second chance romances. In some ways it was a love triangle between Adam, Charlotte, and Adam’s deceased wife. Adam’s first wife affects many aspects of Adam and Charlotte’s burgeoning feelings. These feelings at first was unrequited and honestly, at times, uncomfortable for the characters. The character development was stunning and the plot was inventive and unusual. This was somewhat more serious that other books I have read by Linda Rae Sande. It showed another layer of writing excellence and I enjoyed reading Adam and Charlotte’s romance.

For me, when I read an unrequited love trope it is usually the heroine who is pining for the hero. This novella is the reverse. I loved that! Will Sinclair has admired Violet Hotchkiss from afar since childhood. Violet wants nothing to do with Will. Will and Violet go through a gambit of emotions and passionate liaisons before Violet realizes what is in from of her. Will is a great character, unsure and shy. Violet can be clueless and curt, but those qualities endeared me rather than repelled. This was a cute, easy read that I enjoyed immensely.
