This was hard to decide on a rating for. This was one of the first books of its kind that I read which is why it has a spot in my heart. I remember thinking it was very original when I first read it. I loved that Travis was super alpha male, loved the emotional rollercoaster, loved the morally ambiguous MC. However, looking back, it’s not that she does those things particularly well - it was just the first time I read that so it was very exciting.

I have to admire that this was one of the first popular books with this style and genre. To me, that makes it worth more since she was doing it before there were a lot of models to get ideas from.

I will say, I’ve never really liked Abby. While I love a good emotional rollercoaster, she was just wishy-washy and never knew what she wanted. She’d trample all over other people’s feelings and then blame it on them. She never really grew out of that.
