Blade Breaker by Victoria Aveyard
5.0

Only because the writing is mature writing (violence, murder, attempted murder, treason, world domination, alien things? zombies? annoying men), not in a content way, but in a thinking way. Like this series easily could have been new adult/adult. And not in the way that's like it needed to be, just the complexity of the world-building and character dynamics were so well written that I was very impressed.

Victoria Aveyard did not disappoint. Y'ALL... I still love every aspect of this series. Look, go into knowing it's going to take you a hot minute. But, like...enjoy the minute. Should I be rooting for the villain couple? Probs not. But, am I? Like is it refreshing to see a female villain be an equal to her male counterpart? like yeah, it's kind of cool. And I'm the biggest sucker for a marriage of convenience trope.

As for everyone else, they are still the same loveable clan as before. Just a little messier. The character dynamics and found family that Victoria Aveyard writes about are some of the best out there. If that's your thing then go ahead and pick up the series. You won't be disappointed.
